England dominated the second day of the ongoing fourth Test of the five-match series against India, in Ranchi. After getting all-out at the score of 353 runs in the morning of the second day, England’s young spin duo of Shoaib Bashir and Tom Hartley brought England back into the game with their sensational bowling.

Bashir scalped 4 wickets, alongside 2 wickets picked by Tom Hartley at the end of the second day’s play in the Ranchi Test. India were struggling at the score of 219 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 73 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel and lower-order batter Kuldeep Yadav were unbeaten there in the middle with individual scores of 30 and 17 runs, respectively.

Besides these two, one of the major highlights of the Indian batting was another gritty knock played by the young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal; he scored a well-fought half-century, hitting 73 runs off 117 balls, with 8 fours and a six. Other than him, Shubman Gill was the second highest-scorer for Team India with 38 runs off 65 balls, hitting 6 fours.

Ravindra Jadeja's first-session heroics bundled out England

Earlier in the start of the second day, England resumed their batting from the overnight score of 302 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. They could add only 51 runs as the star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scalped all of the remaining three wickets to bundle out the visitors at the score of 353 runs.

It was the former skipper and modern-day batting great, Joe Root for England who scored a century with his traditional and well-known approach apart from the aggressive ‘Bazball’ approach.

Ravindra Jadeja and Akash Deep picked 4 and 3 wickets, respectively for India in the first innings, alongside 1 and 2 wickets bagged by Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj.

The fans also came up with a lot of reactions over X (formerly Twitter) after the end of the second day’s play in the ongoing Ranchi Test.
