He also achieved the number 1 rank in the men’s Test rankings riding on his remarkable bowling performance in the Vizag Test.
Meanwhile, the star England pacer Chris Woakes has joined the bandwagon in hailing Jasprit Bumrah for the latter’s memorable outing in the Test Series against the Three Lions. Bumrah claimed a brilliant 6-fer in the first innings of the Vizag Test followed by picking 3 wickets in the second innings.

Chris Woakes heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah for his brilliant bowling in playing a pivotal role in India’s victory against the visitors in the second Test in Vishakhapatnam.
“In the last Test match, Jasprit Bumrah was the standout player, he is a world-class player. Across all the formats, he is one of the best if not the best at the moment. It's great to see fast bowling executed well especially in this condition,” said Chris Woakes to ANI.
“When you're going to play India, obviously India will be the favourites. Team England knows what they need to do to compete and they will see where the series is now, 1-1. The next match will be very important as it is the middle game of the series,” he added later.
Now, Jasprit Bumrah will be in action for India in the upcoming third Test of the five-match series against England as the selectors have announced the Indian squad for the final three Tests of the series. Bumrah will continue as skipper Rohit Sharma’s deputy in the remaining three fixtures of the Test Series.
