Following his massive outburst against DRS following the Rajkot Test, Ben Stokes was spared in the second innings in Ranchi by an umpire's ruling on Sunday, the third day of the fourth Test of India vs England.

Stokes came in after England lost four wickets in short succession. Ravindra Jadeja trapped England's skipper in front of the stumps in the 30th over, leaving him sweating. Umpire Rod Tucker wasn't interested in Jadeja's lengthy appeal since the ball appeared to be whirling a much.

A small meeting was held between the players and Rohit Sharma as Ravindra Jadeja was able to ready Rohit Sharma to take DRS, with just a second left. In Hawkeye, it showed that the ball was going to hit the stumps, later it was called as Umpire’s call by the DRS.

“Not too long back he was complaining about the umpire’s call, Ben Stokes. I’m sure he won’t be complaining now,” former Indian wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta said in commentary.

Later Ben Stokes was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav as the ball hit his pad and later it hit the stumps which caused England to lose their fifth wicket.

Ben Stokes was unhappy about the DRS decision on Zak Crawley

Earlier Ben Stokes was unhappy about the DRS decision on Zak Crawley. After the third Test match in Rajkot Ben Stokes questioned to scrap the umpire’s call.

"He (match referee Jeff Crowe) was telling us about how it was decided to be given out when the ball did not contact the stumps during the DRS reply. The ball did not strike the stumps on the replay," Stokes told TalkSport. He was answering a question about his chat with the match referee. Stokes and England coach Brendon McCullum were spotted conversing with Crowe after England suffered a 434-run loss.

"Apparently the figures indicated that it was hitting the stumps, but the visual was incorrect; I'm not sure what happened there. I believe it is sufficient for those in power to state that something went wrong.
He then went on to discuss the loss of Umpire's Call. "It's not something you can pinpoint as a result of the game. There are so many things involved. When you are on the losing end of such decisions, it hurts, but it is part of the game. You want people to do what you desire, but they don't always do so.
