The mini-auction of the Indian T20 League 2023 will take place in Kochi on 23 December 2022. All teams submitted their retained and released players list to the Board on 15 November. However, many teams released some players who came up with huge performances in recent domestic tournaments.

Along with them, many uncapped players will be available for a very small base price in the auction. So, franchises will be tempted to go big on those players for the next edition. These players also have the capability to be the surprising ones for any team.  

Here are five uncapped Indian players who can cause a bidding war between franchises for the Indian T20 League 2023:

Narayan Jagadeesan

This player made headlines recently when he smashed 277 runs off 141 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Narayan Jagadeesan hit 25 fours and 15 sixes throughout that marathon innings. In this tournament, he was the highest run-scorer as Jagadeesan scored 830 runs in eight matches, at an average of 138.33 and a strike rate of 125.37.

He was part of the Chennai camp from 2020 to 2022. Within those years, he scored 73 runs in seven innings, at an average of 24.33. So, Chennai released him ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League. But, seeing his recent form with the bat, all franchises including Chennai will keep an eye on this star batter. His base price will be INR 20 lakhs.   

Shivam Mavi

This star pacer also enjoyed a great Vijay Hazare Trophy also with the ball. Shivam Mavi took 14 wickets in seven matches, at an economy of 4.15. His best figure of 4/41 came against Mumbai in the Preliminary quarter-final. Mavi has already played 32 matches in the Indian T20 League where he has picked up 30 wickets.

He was part of the Kolkata camp from 2018 to 2022. Kolkata released him ahead of the next season of the league. In the 2022 season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Mavi took 10 wickets in seven matches, at an economy of 6.64. Now, in the upcoming auction, he will be available for 40 Lakhs INR. Therefore, all teams can go big for this pacer for the next edition.

Aryan Juyal

This batter from Uttar Pradesh can be a surprise package for any team in the next edition of the Indian T20 League. Aryan Juyal scored 494 runs in eight matches in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, at a staggering average of 70.57. His high score of 159 runs off 143 balls came against Maharashtra in the second quarter-final in a losing cause.

In the 2022 season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Juyal scored 218 runs in seven matches, at an average of 54.50. In the last edition of the Indian T20 League, he was a part of the Mumbai franchise. But, they released him ahead of the next season of the league. Now, he will be available at a base price of INR 20 Lakhs.    

Vidwath Kaverappa

This Right arm Fast medium pacer from Karnataka had a great domestic season so far. In the 2022 season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vidwath Kaverappa took 18 wickets in eight matches, at an economy of 6.36. Then, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he grabbed 17 wickets in eight matches, at an economy of 3.53.

His best figure of 4/40 came against Punjab in the first quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His ability to take wickets at the start of the innings for fun can make him a crucial addition to any team. Meanwhile, he will be available at a base price of INR 20 Lakhs for the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League.  

Vasuki Koushik

This is another Right arm Medium medium bowler from Karnataka who has shown his class in recent domestic tournaments. In the Maharaja 20-20 trophy, 2022, Vasuki Koushik took 12 wickets in 11 matches for Hubli Tigers, at an economy of 7.68. Then, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he grabbed 17 wickets in nine matches, at an economy of 2.70. 

His best figure of 4/27 came against Vidarbha in a Group B encounter of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He will be available at a base price of INR 20 Lakhs for the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. Koushik has been a consistent performer in the Karnataka cricketing circles. Hence, any team can go big for this player in the upcoming auction.
