1. Albie Morkel smashes 28 runs in an over in 2012
Chennai clashed against Bangalore in the 13th match of the cash-rich league in 2012. Bangalore batted first and put up a humongous total of 205 runs in the first innings. Chasing the target, the Dhoni-led side were in a dangerous position as they required 43 runs in the last two overs but the then Bangalore skipper Daniel Vettori took a gamble and gave the bowl to Virat Kohli for the 19th over. South African left-hander took full advantage of it and smashed 28 runs in his over.
2. Ravindra Jadeja smashes 37 runs in an over
India's star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja blasted on Bangalore's speedster Harshal Patel in the 14th season of the league. He smashed five sixes in his over and the total runs Harshal conceded were 37. With the help of Jadeja's fiery knock of 62 runs off just 28 balls, Chennai managed to put up a massive total of 191 runs in the first innings.
3. The grand comeback win against Mumbai in 2018
The franchise faced a two-year ban and didn't play in 2016 and 2017 and hoped to make a remarkable comeback in 2018. They played their opening match against the Mumbai-based franchise and were chasing a target of 166 runs. At once, they were at 75/5 in 12 overs but Dwayne Bravo had different things in his mind and played a breathtaking knock of 68 runs off just 30 balls.
4. Dhoni scores 16 runs in final over as Chennai beat Punjab in 2010
The Chennai-based franchise were in a do-or-die position in the 2010 season. If they lose the match, they could be out of the season before the semifinal game. They needed 16 runs in the final over against the Punjab-based franchise and Irfan Pathan was given the ball to bowl the last over. The skipper himself was on strike and chased the target in just 4 balls.
5. Michael Hussey's 100 in very first game
Chennai played their first match of the inaugural season in 2008 against Punjab. Their star Australian batter Michael Hussey smashed a hundred in the very first game. With the help of his brilliant century, Chennai reached to a mammoth total of 240 runs. Meanwhile, Punjab's batter also batted well but fell short of 33 runs in the end.
