Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni recently got spotted during the US Open 2023 quarterfinal between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev. Both players played this match on Wednesday, the 5th of September. Alcaraz defeated Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinal clash to make it to the semi-final round of the tournament.

Notably, Dhoni is not in action on the field since he led the Chennai Super Kings to win the fifth title in the Indian Premier League as they clinched the trophy of IPL 2023. CSK won the title clash after defeating the IPL 2022 champions, Gujarat Titans.

Coming back to the quarterfinal match between Alcaraz and Zverev, Dhoni was noticed in the audience arena during the match as the World No. 1 tennis star emerged victorious at the end of the match. He won the match in straight sets by a margin of 6-3, 6-2, and 6-4. When the Spaniard made it to the semi-finals of the US Open 2023, it was also quite special as it was also the last major tennis tournament of the calendar year 2023.

Zverev was one of the semi-finalists during the US Open 2020, it was also the time when that edition’s runners-up Novak Djokovic made his last appearance in New York before coming back again in the ongoing US Open 2023.

It looks like MS Dhoni is quite a special fan of the young Spanish prodigy Carlos Alcaraz so the two-time World Cup champion skipper was also there in attendance during Alcaraz’s match in last year’s US Open 2022.

Speaking of Dhoni, he had also become the most successful skipper in the history of the Indian Premier League, alongside MI skipper Rohit Sharma winning the greatest number of trophies as a skipper for a team. There are also speculations that the 42-year-old could appear once again in IPL 2024 if he is fit to play by then.
