Ajinkya Rahane

The veteran India batter and current vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane is going through a lean patch with the bat in the ongoing two-match Test series against West Indies. He has scored only 3 and 8 in the two innings he got a chance to bat for India in the first and second Test so far.

Meanwhile, the former Indian batter and currently the commentator, Aakash Chopra has come up with a big statement while talking about Rahane’s batting form. Chopra said that it is kind of a phase when the notice period is on for the 35-year-old veteran middle-order batter.

"Ajinkya Rahane - he is the vice-captain of this team for sure but you get the feeling that the notice period is on. It happens with some players and it seems like it is happening with him as well or will happen," said Aakash Chopra in a video on his YouTube channel.

"He got an inside edge once earlier as well. Then he got it a second time and the ball hit the stumps. It was a session where India lost four wickets and the run-scoring was slow but, in the end, India are in a commanding situation,” he added later.

Apart from all this, the former Indian skipper and batting superstar, Virat Kohli achieved a historic milestone as he is playing his 500th international match for India. Notably, Kohli became the first-ever cricketer in history to score a century in his 500th international appearance for the national side of the country.

Kohli played a knock of 121 runs and also equaled Sir Don Bradman’s record of 29 centuries. Whereas, he also became the fastest batter in history to score 76 centuries. Kohli has now 76 centuries after 500 international matches; earlier, the record was on the name of former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar who had 75 centuries after 500 international matches.

Speaking of the current action of the match at Port of Spain in Trinidad, the hosts had scored 86 runs for the loss of 1 wicket at the end of day 2. Prior to that, Rohit Sharm’s men posted a total of 438 runs owing to a late half-century by star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin.
