Team India is all set to lock horns against New Zealand on October 22 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala for the fifth game of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the Men in Blue and the Black Caps are currently undefeated in the tournament. However, India's batting greats Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma shared their views on the strong Kiwi side ahead of their clash.
The former India skipper Virat Kohli feels that the Black Caps are very structured and represent the professional side of the ODI World Cup 2023. In addition, the RCB stalwart feels their consistency is the reason for their success in the major tournaments. The 34-year-old cricketer says that any team that is playing against them must find a way to break their rhythm.
"They are a very professional side and a very structured side, they have a very structured way of playing their cricket. But within that structure, they have been very consistent and that has been the reason for their success. Credit to the side for the way that they are playing. Any team that plays against them has to find a way to break their rhythm and play to the best of their abilities which will eventually decide whether you can cope with their consistency or not because they are not a team that makes many mistakes," Virat Kohli said.
I feel New Zealand are tactically very strong: Rohit Sharma
Meanwhile, India's skipper Rohit Sharma feels New Zealand uses a very strong tactical approach in their games, which makes them a solid team. The 36-year-old skipper says that opponents have to go through strong planning against each individual New Zealand player to win the game against them.
"I think when I talk about tactical New Zealand comes to my mind. I feel they are tactically very strong they bat according to the plans that have been given to them. When you play against them you know some sort of planning has been done against each individual," Rohit Sharma said.
