WATCH: Michael Vaughan trolls Mickey Arthur with his massive statement on Rohit Sharma

It has been over a week since the biggest game of the ODI World Cup 2023 was played. India and Pakistan played in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium in front of a packed crowd Mickey Arthur the Pakistan team director came up with a comment that saw him get trolled from all sides. 

Former English skipper Michael Vaughan is known for his typical dry English humour. On many occasions, the Yorkshire legend has taken a dig at India on social media. This time though Mickey Arthur has been on the receiving end of Michael Vaughan’s tongue-in-cheek comments. 

The former English batting star was seen making the comments during a live interaction with Adam Gilchrist. The comments from Michael Vaughan event sent the former Australian wicket-keeper into hysterical laughter. India had won the game by 7 wickets to win their 8^th ODI World Cup game against their arch-rivals.

Michael Vaughan’s takes a massive dig at Mickey Arthur 

After losing the game to India, Pakistan’s Team Director Mickey Arthur came up with an absurd explanation. As per the South African, the game looked less like a global event and more like an Indian Cricket Board event. The reason behind this statement was that the local DJ did not play Dil. DIl .. Pakistan to encourage the players. 

This statement has been received with shock as well as sent people into laughing fits. During a conversation with Adam Gilchrist, Michael Vaughan made light of the situation and trolled Mickey Arthur.

Michael Vaughan said “His best move without doubt, the move that won the game and the Pakistani coach alluded to it afterwards, is Rohit said to the DJ, don’t play ‘Dil. Dil. Pakistan’. If you play, Pakistan will win. Do not play that song. Make sure that they don’t hear that inspirational song. That was clever from Rohit, most captains don’t think about things like that. DJ’s, Music, Rohit is ahead of his time”

The former English skipper’s comments got a huge chuckle from Adam Gilchrist. Speaking about Rohit’s captaincy Michael Vaughan just had words of praise for the way he has led India so far. 

Michael Vaughan said, “Gilly, you are absolutely spot on about Rohit. His tactical awareness out in the middle, just managing the players, as you mentioned Mohammad Siraj, giving him an extra over just to give him a boost”.

Pakistan lost their second game of the ODI World Cup 2023 versus Australia on Friday in Bengaluru by 62 runs. This pushed Pakistan out of the top four in the points table as Australia took that place. Meanwhile, number two-ranked India will play number-ranked New Zealand in a top-of-the-table clash in Dharamshala on Sunday 22^nd of October.
