The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has come up with their all efforts to complete the damage control after the video board president Zaka Ashraf went viral on social media, in which he used the term ‘dushman mulk’ for India. Following this statement, the PCB chief was at the receiving end of harsh criticism from the cricket fans of both countries as the Pakistan Cricket Team received a warm and enthusiastic welcome when they landed in India at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

Amidst all this, PCB released a new statement in which they seemed to acknowledge that the love and welcome for the Pakistan cricket team was evidence of how much people of India and Pakistan love each other’s cricketing stars.

Notably, PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf’s ‘Dushman Mulk’ remarks surfaced on social media just a few hours after the Babar Azam-led Pak cricket team arrived in Hyderabad.

"Chairman PCB's Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, has stated that the fantastic reception of the Pakistan men's cricket team in India for the World Cup proves how much love the people of both countries have for each other's players," said PCB in a newly-released official statement.

"This love was evident by the reception arranged at the Hyderabad airport. Zaka Ashraf personally congratulated the Indians on arranging a reception of this kind. He mentioned that whenever India and Pakistan step onto the cricket field, they emerge as traditional rivals but not as enemies," the statement adds further.

Later on, the PCB also reckoned that Pakistan and India have been the centres of attraction, be it in the cricketing world or something else.

"Chairman Management Committee also emphasised that Pakistan and India have always been the centre of global attention which is why cricket between the two countries is considered more significant than the other contests in this sport," the statement concludes.

Notably, Pakistan will start their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign with their first match against the Netherlands on Friday, October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
