New Zealand white-ball cricket team captain Kane Williamson suffered a knee injury during the opening game of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). He suffered serious injuries when making his debut for the Gujarat Titans while saving the ball that was heading for a six. The right-handed batter was then ruled out of the whole 16th edition of the cash-rich league.

In the meantime, a video of Williamson playing cricket with his daughter has been going viral on social media. Many fans have liked the adorable father-daughter duo and have shown love as well. Since the ODI World Cup, cricket's largest tournament, is scheduled to be played in October of this year, fans have given him well wishes to recover quickly and make a comeback on the cricket field.

I haven’t had such a long-term injury before: Kane Williamson

Williamson is one of the very few players who has excelled in each of the game's three formats. He was also one of the four players who make up the renowned "Fab 4" of Test cricket players. Williamson recently discussed his recuperation and described how his recovery is progressing. Williamson acknowledged that dealing with such a prolonged injury would be challenging because he had never had one before in his professional career.

“I haven’t thought too much about that. I don’t know what the rulings are around that from a squad perspective. But the focus for me is getting it right regardless of the tournaments that are ahead. It’s within any athlete’s want to return as quickly as possible but not compromise the effort that goes in to make sure it’s strong and ready,” Williamson was quoted as saying by India Today.

“I’m just trying to keep it week-to-week at the moment. I’m making progress, but I’m not putting a timeline on anything. I haven’t had such a long-term injury before but talking to other people that have, the journey is a bit of a long one so if you look too far ahead it can probably become a little bit daunting.” he added
