In the second T20I between West Indies and India, the Asian side won the toss and elected to bat first. The Men In Blue needed to win this game to keep themselves equal to the home side in the series. Also, they faced a lot of criticism after losing the first game to a lower-ranked, West Indies.

Talking about the game, the Hardik Pandya-led side had a poor start as Shubman Gill (7) was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph. Suryakumar Yadav's (1) poor form on this tour continued as he was run out in the fourth over. The likes of Ishan Kishan (27) and Tilak Varma put together 42 runs for the third wicket. The former was cleaned up by Romario Shepherd. Sanju Samson (7) was stumped by Nicholas Pooran off Akeal Hosein.

Varma (51) once again showed why he was selected for the tour as he scored his maiden international fifty. In the end, the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi provided finishing touches to take the side to 152/7 on a typically dry surface of Guyana.

In reply, the Maroon Brigade had a horror start as they lost two wickets in the first over. Pandya took out Brandon King and Johnson Charles with out swinging deliveries. In-form Nicholas Pooran still played attacking cricket. Watching this Kyle Mayers, who struggled in Singh's first over, took an attack on the Indian pacer before being trapped lbw in the end.

At 32/3, the likes of skipper Rovman Powell and Pooran put together 57 runs. However, the former could have been out a bit early if India had taken a review of lbw against him off Ravi Bishnoi. However, Pandya took out his opposite number. Despite Pooran's fifty, the team got into trouble as they went from 126/4 to 129/8. However, the likes of Alzarri Joseph and Akeal Hosein took the team over the line with seven balls to spare. India's tactical mistakes in the last three overs led to this.
