'2024 is the year of the Khan brothers' - Fans react as Sarfaraz Khan's younger brother Musheer Khan smashes hundred in Ranji Trophy 2024

The young Mumbai batter Musheer Khan smashed an all-important century in the second quarter-final of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024 against Baroda.

Mumbai and Baroda locked horns on the first day of the second quarter-final of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024. The young Mumbai batter Musheer Khan, younger brother of Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan, shone for Mumbai on the opening day of the second quarter-final of the prestigious Indian First-Class tournament.

Musheer Khan went unbeaten at the end of the first day at 128 runs off 216 balls, with 10 fours; on the back of his century, Mumbai managed to post a total of 248 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 90 overs at the end of day’s play.

Musheer’s knock also helped Mumbai to recover from a miserable position in the second session when they had lost 5 wickets just at the score of 142 runs.

Baroda spinner Bhargav Bhatt bowled brilliantly and scalped 4 wickets at the cost of just 82 runs in 29 overs, including 4 maiden overs. Besides him, Ninad Rathva also bagged one wicket for his side.

Coming back to Musheer Khan’s century knock for Mumbai, he has continued his sensational form since the conclusion of the U-19 World Cup 2024. Notably, he was the second-highest run-scorer in the marquee international tournament.

On the other hand, Musheer’s elder brother Sarfaraz Khan recently made his much-awaited Test debut for India in the third Test of the ongoing five-match series against England, in Rajkot. Sarfaraz scored 62 and 68 runs, respectively in the Rajkot Test against the visitors. His knocks also played a crucial role in India’s massive win over Ben Stokes’ men in the third Test.
