The young duo of Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal amazed everyone with their stunning batting performances against Afghanistan in the just-concluded second T20I of the three-match series. Both the batters stitched a blistering partnership of 92 runs off just 42 balls for the third wicket when India were chasing the target of 173 runs against the Afghans.

Before getting caught behind the wickets in the 13th over of India’s run-chase in the second innings, the young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had smashed 68 runs off just 34 balls, hitting 5 fours and 6 sixes putting India to a comfortable score of 154 runs in 12.3 overs.

Later, his blistering partner Shivam Dube went unbeaten with a swashbuckling knock of 63 runs off just 32 balls, hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes. These two sensational and outstanding knocks from Jaiswal and Dube helped India to comfortably chase down the target in 15.4 overs, scoring 173 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, and winning the match by 6 wickets.

Besides Jaiswal and Dube in the second T20I, former India skipper and the modern-day batting great Virat Kohli also scored 29 runs off 16 balls, with 5 fours.

Earlier in the match, India bundled out Afghanistan at the score of 173 runs in 20 overs courtesy of the brilliant bowling from star pacer Arshdeep Singh accompanied by the economical spell of Axar Patel. Arshdeep and Axar scalped 3 and 2 wickets, respectively for the men in blue. Apart from these two, Shivam Dube and Ravi Bishnoi also picked 1 and 2 wickets, respectively.

Notably, it was also the second successive unbeaten half-century by Shivam Dube in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Afghanistan; he also scored 60 runs off just 40 balls, with 5 fours and 2 sixes and also won the ‘Player of the Match award as India won the match by 6 wickets. On other hand, Jaiswal was making his first appearance in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
