It all happened just in the next moment of the Indian Cricket Board announcing India’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. In this announcement, the picture became crystal clear that regular skipper Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in the T20Is against Afghanistan.

With that announcement from the Indian Cricket Board, the fans have also started expecting Rohit and Virat to be a part of India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 later this year, starting from June 1, 2024, in USA and West Indies.

Notably, Rohit and Kohli will be appearing in the T20Is after a long break of 15 months since they played it last time against England. It was the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, where the men faced a huge defeat by a margin of 10 wickets against the eventual champions of the tournament, England.

Speaking of their respective careers in the T20I format, Rohit Sharma has played 148 T20Is, scoring 3853 runs while batting in 140 innings of these matches, with an average of 31.32; he has also smashed 4 centuries and 29 half-centuries in his T20I career.

On the other hand, the all-format Indian batting stalwart, Virat Kohli has scored 4008 runs with an amazing average of 52.73 in 107 innings of the 115 T20Is, he played for India. In these appearances, the 35-year-old has scored a century and 37 half-centuries.
