In recent developments, Australia under the captaincy of the star pacer Pat Cummins have continued their dominance in Test Cricket. The defending champions of the World Test Championship have moved to the top spot of the Test rankings in the recently updated rankings by the Cricket Governing Body on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Notably, Australia are completely dominating world cricket since they clinched the title of the World Test Championship 2021-23 after beating India in the final of the tournament. Later in November last year, they went on to beat the hosts India in the final to clinch the title of the ODI World Cup 2023. 

Now, another milestone has been added in the dream run and a golden journey of success for the Australia skipper and the immensely talented speedster Pat Cummins as the Aussies gained the top spot in the Test rankings, surpassing India. Now, Australia have 118 points to their name, one more than India, who are positioned at the second spot with 117 rating points.

Speaking of the current action of the cricket for Pat Cummins-led Aussies, they are going unbeaten in the ongoing three-match Test series against Pakistan with two successive wins in the first two Tests at Perth and Melbourne, respectively. Now, both teams are in action in the third and last Test of the three-match series against Shan Masood’s men. 

The visitors were in big trouble during the Sydney Test as they had lost 7 wickets just at the score of 67 runs at the end of the third day’s play due to an unpredicted and unbelievable collapse. They were in quite a comfortable position after restricting Australia to 299 runs in the first innings to take the first-inning lead of 14 runs courtesy of Aamer Jamal’s sensational six-wicket haul. But, Pakistan couldn’t capitalize on the moral boost they earned at the end o
