India fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has rejoined the squad ahead of the 4th T20I against Australia in Raipur after briefly returning home to participate in his wedding festivities. Social media was abuzz with pictures and videos from his ceremonies, including haldi and Sangeet, where the couple was seen dancing and enjoying the special moments. Mukesh Kumar officially announced his wedding on social media, receiving love and warm wishes from fans for the newlywed couple.

The captain of the Indian team revealed during the toss that he would be absent from the 3rd T20I for this particular reason. Avesh Khan was selected by India, marking his T20I comeback in the match, his first appearance since the Hangzhou Asian Games. The absence of Mukesh Kumar was keenly felt by the Indian team, as the pacer's effective variations proved valuable in the first two T20Is.

Suryakumar Yadav's trust in him to bowl in the final over has showcased Mukesh Kumar's economical bowling. In the first game, where the visitors scored 208, Mukesh played a crucial role in the victory by conceding only 5 runs in the last over of the Australian innings.

Deepak Chahar inducted into squad for 4th and 5th T20I against Australia

Rajasthan pacer Deepak Chahar, who also represents Chennai Super Kings (CSK), made a comeback to the Indian national team after an 11-month absence. He replaced Mukesh Kumar in India's squad for the ongoing T20I series against Australia. Mukesh Kumar has been granted leave by the Indian Cricket Board (ICB) as he is getting married in the coming days.

Chahar's last appearance for India was in December 2022. Subsequently, he faced several injuries, with a hamstring strain sidelining him for a significant portion of IPL 2023. During his absence, players like Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, and Arshdeep Singh secured regular spots in the Indian team. Chahar holds a record of 29 wickets from 24 T20Is, averaging 24.24. But with Chahar’s ability with bat as well as ball in hand can be lethal as far as 2024 T20 World Cup is concerned.
