The next edition of the Indian T20 League is going to kick off in 2023. Before that, teams or franchises will attend an auction with the motive to strengthen their teams. Speaking about the Bangalore franchise, they ended in the fourth position in the table after the group stage. They gained 16 points from 14 matches.
However, they lost the second qualifier against Rajasthan and failed to qualify for the final. Several players performed well as they had a great run under their new captain, Faf du Plessis. But, there were several players who did not perform as per expectations. So, the team management will look to trade them with other franchises ahead of the next Indian T20 League season.
Here are five players whom the Bangalore franchise can trade ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League
Sherfane Rutherford
This batter from West Indies has impressed global fans with his power-hitting abilities in different T20 competitions. In 2021, Sherfane Rutherford scored 262 runs at a strike rate of 127.18 in the Caribbean Premier League. Then, the Bangalore franchise bought him in the auction ahead of the last edition.
Glenn Maxwell missed a few games at the start of that season. Hence, the franchise gave Rutherford chances. But, he scored only 33 runs in three matches with a strike rate of 66. After Maxwell’s arrival, they did not consider Rutherford for a single game in the tournament. Therefore, they will look to trade him ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League.
David Willey
This England pacer joined the franchise in the last season of the Indian T20 League. Fans are well aware of David Willey and his swinging deliveries. He even can hit huge sixes in crunch situations while batting down the order. But, the Bangalore franchise did not get such performances from this player.
In four matches, he scored only 18 runs at a strike rate of 60. Even, with the ball, Willey took only one wicket in four matches at an economy of 6.55. Therefore, the team will look to trade this player ahead of the next season. They can look for another versatile player in the upcoming auction.
Chama Milind
This 28-year-old left-arm pacer from Hyderabad was a part of the Bangalore franchise in the last season of the Indian T20 League. In 2016, Delhi bought him after he spent two seasons with the Hyderabad franchise. Now, in 2022, this franchise considered him. But, eventually, Chama Milind did not get a single game.
Based on this approach, it seemed that the franchise did not have any plan regarding him. Even, he will look to get some game time to showcase his abilities at a stage like the Indian T20 League. Hence, Bangalore will look to trade him ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League.
Karn Sharma
This Indian leg spinner has a vast experience in the Indian T20 League. Karn Sharma made his debut in this tournament in 2009 for Bangalore. But, his best performance came in 2013 for the Hyderabad franchise. Karn took 11 wickets in 13 matches. He even has the ability to hit some ball out of par at his will.
Therefore, Bangalore considered him in the last season for his all-around abilities. But, the franchise showed more faith in Wanindu Hasaranga and Shahbaz Ahmed throughout the tournament. Hasaranga also claimed 26 wickets in 16 games. Therefore, Bangalore will look to trade him ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League.
Siddharth Kaul
This Indian pacer is a well-known name in the history of the Indian T20 League. Siddharth Kaul has impressed fans throughout all these years with his performances. Ahead of the 2022 edition, the Bangalore franchise bought him. But, he failed to deliver his best performances. Hence, Bangalore benched him for the majority of that season.
Kaul had impressive seasons for the Hyderabad franchise in 2017 and 2018 with 37 wickets in 27 games at an economy of 8.3. But, the current franchise did not use Kaul so much and it indicated that the team had no such plan around him. Hence, they will look to trade him ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League.
