Fakhar Zaman called India the best place to play cricket. The Pakistan opener said that as a batter, one would love to bat in India, given the nature of the wickets, the size of the boundaries, and other factors. Zaman mentioned that as a player, one would love to play in front of a huge crowd that cheers every player irrespective of the team they play for.

Fakhar has been in very good form in the last couple of matches. Since his return to the side in the World Cup, Fakhar has stood up for the team. Against Bangladesh, the Southpaw scored 81 runs in 74 balls, which included 3 fours and 7 maximums. Fakhar has found his range as a batter after returning to the side. Since then, he has been hitting boundaries for fun, quite literally.

Against New Zealand, the Pakistani opener went a notch above and played an even better knock. Against a quality side like New Zealand, Zaman scored 126 runs in 81 balls, which included 7 fours and 11 massive sixes. The knock of the aggressive batter helped Pakistan to win the game by 21 runs via the DLS method, despite conceding 401 runs on the board.

Tough challenge for a semifinal spot

Pakistan is set to face England in their last group-stage match. In Eden Gardens, Pakistan is expected to get good support against the defending champions. To enter the semifinal of the tournament, Pakistan must beat England either by 287 runs while batting first, or chase down the given target within 2.4 overs. Though the task is mathematically possible, it is very difficult.

Babar Azam though, had incredible confidence in his team, when asked about the same in the pre-match conference. Babar said that nothing can be predicted in advance. The skipper of Pakistan said that they are well aware of the net run rate and are prepared to take on England. On the other hand, England would be looking to win their last game, as it will have a say on their spot in the Champions Trophy 2025.
