IPL 2021: Player auction to take place in Chennai on February 18

The IPL players' auction before the 14th edition of the league will take in Chennai on February 18, 2021. The league organizers declared the news on their official website on Wednesday. The existing eight franchises have retained 139 players whereas 57 players have been released from their respective squads. Sunrisers Hyderabad has retained 22 players which is the most significant number of players. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore have only included 12 players in the team. Top international stars like Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Jason Roy were released by their respective teams the last week at the end of IPL Player Retention Day.
