Pakistan is likely to host the 2022 season of the Asia Cup

Pakistan is likely to host the 2022 season of the Asia Cup, whereas Sri Lanka is going to host the competition in 2023. The Asia Cup 2021 has been postponed and it is now known that the competition will be played in consecutive years, 2022 and 2023. Initially, the tournament was planned to be held last year in Pakistan. Later, the venue for the tournament was changed from Pakistan to Sri Lanka. The contest was to be played in September of 2020 to prepare for the T20 World Cup in Australia. However, it was then further moved forward as the T20 World Cup got postponed to 2021. Due to the pandemic, the BCCI also decided to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) in September-November 2020 in UAE.
