Mumbai Indians Women locked horns with UP Warriorz Women in the 6th match of the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2024. UP Warriorz Women skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and asked the Mumbai Indians to bat first. Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted a good total of 161 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

Star opener Hayley Matthews scored 55 runs off 47 balls, with 9 fours and a six, alongside 26 runs scored by her opening partner Yastika Bhatia. The duo also stitched a 50-run partnership for the first wicket in Mumbai’s favour.

Speaking of the bowling of UP Warriorz Women in the first innings, all the bowlers who bowled for UP scalped one wicket each including Mumbai skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt’s run-out.

Healy scored 33 runs off 29 balls, with 5 fours while Kiran contributed with a brilliant half-century, scoring 57 runs off just 31 balls, with 6 fours and a six.

Apart from these two, the star middle-order batter Grace Harris smashed 38 runs off just 17 balls, with 6 fours and a six, alongside Deepti Sharma’s 27 runs off 20 balls, with 4 fours to help UP Warriorz Women to chase down the target. However, Amelia Kerr and Issy Wong scalped 1 and 2 wickets, respectively for Mumbai Indians women but it couldn’t help them.

Eventually, UP Warriorz Women won the man by a big margin of 7 wickets, scoring 163 runs for the loss of only 3 wickets in 16.3 overs, with 21 balls to spare. Kiran Navgire won the ‘Player of the Match award for her match-defining knock of 57 runs off just 31 balls.
