The former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has inked a deal with the Melbourne Stars franchise for the upcoming Men's Big Bash League (BBL) season. Imad Wasim is set to join the team after Christmas to participate in the remaining matches of the T20 franchise tournament. Imad Wasim is set to join his former national teammates, Usama Mir, and Haris Rauf, in the BBL 2023-24.

However, Haris Rauf has not received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for his participation in the upcoming BBL season. The general manager of the Melbourne Stars, Blair Crouch mentioned that Imad Wasim's all-round skills would strengthen the team, especially with Liam available for three matches. Crouch expressed enthusiasm about the notable presence of Pakistani fans at the MCG.

“With Liam available for the first three matches, we identified Imad as a player who could come in and perform a role for us with his left-arm spin and lengthen our batting lineup. I’m looking forward to seeing lots of Pakistan fans in the crowd at the MCG with Imad joining his former national teammates, Usama Mir and Haris Rauf,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.

The right time for me to announce my retirement: Imad Wasim
