After a regrettable mix-up led to debutant Sarfaraz Khan's run-out on Day 1 of the third Test against England, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja admitted to making the "wrong call." Despite the miscommunication, Jadeja praised the debutant for his impressive innings. Sarfaraz's diligent efforts resulted in a stylish 62 off 66 balls, showcasing his batting prowess at number six and promising a substantial score.

Regrettably, a miscommunication with star all-rounder Jadeja during his promising debut innings resulted in a run-out by Mark Wood at the non-striker's end. Despite the setback, Sarfaraz's innings contributed flair to a strong day for the hosts, albeit ending with an unfortunate misunderstanding. Expressing regret on Instagram, the all-rounder conveyed his disappointment over Sarfaraz's run-out and proceeded to commend the young cricketer for his admirable performance.

"Feeling bad for Sarfaraz Khan. It was my wrong call. Well played," Jadeja wrote on Instagram story.

During the press conference after the day's play in Rajkot, Sarfaraz was questioned about the incident, to which the batter seemed unfazed. The 26-year-old expressed gratitude to the all-rounder for guiding him through his debut. Initially nervous, Sarfaraz even top-edged a slog sweep in the first few balls of his innings.

However, the young batter also credited Jadeja for easing his anxiety and encouraging him to play a substantial innings. Moreover, after the dismissal, the star India all-rounder was targeted on the internet and was blamed for the dismissal of the debutant. "There was a little miscommunication. This is part of the game. Sometimes there is a run-out, sometimes there is a run, and sometimes there is not. So all this goes on. He (Jadeja) said that there was a little miscommunication. And I said that it is okay. It happens. There is nothing big in it," Sarfaraz said during a post-day press conference.
